Opportunity
We have received tremendous interest, from all over North America and from many other countries, from individuals and groups of swimmers wanting to attend PowerStarts® Clinics. To support this demand, we are currently developing a global network of Certified PowerStarts® Coaches to host and conduct PowerStarts® Clinics and bring the speed and power of Powerful Starts to the world.
We are looking for additional coaches and representatives to promote the PowerStarts® system. These coaches will be able to support continuous training in the PowerStarts® TechniquesTM for their own team, and to conduct clinics of their own for other swimmers and organizations. This provides a tremendous opportunity not only for improvement of your team, but for generating revenue for fundraising and/or income as a professional coach.
Certification
A certified PowerStarts® Coach has been trained in the PowerStarts® philosophy, physics, and Training SystemTM, and authorized to teach our Techniques independently under license.
Certification requires a thorough understanding of the PowerStarts® process, and the commitment of your team/club to a series of three clinics during which your training for certification will take place under the guidance of the PowerStarts® Head Coach. The process is generally as follows:
Clinic 1 -- We do most of the clinic, covering the entire start-dive process, and you observe, help and learn.
Clinic 2 -- We conduct the clinic with you, and refine both the details of the Start-Dive for the swimmers and the clinic procedures for you.
Clinic 3 -- The swimmers
get personalized refinement of their developing technique, and you do most of
the clinic while we help and observe.
As with all our clinics, we bring the equipment to you.
With the commitment to three clinics and certification, we will leave the
Training SystemTM with you between clinics. You may use the
System to practice coaching with the apparatus and improving your swimmers'
starts at the same time (with your team only). At the end of the third
clinic, upon becoming a Certified PowerStarts®
Coach, we will still leave
the System with you to conduct formal clinics as a revenue generating enterprise
both for your own team and for others.
Quality
Quality of coaching is of paramount importance to us. Consistent teaching throughout the country and around the world is essential to the success of all Certified Coaches and the safety of all swimmers. To this end, we stay in constant contact with our coaches, refining clinic procedures and propagating new, effective ideas throughout the PowerStarts® Coach community. For example, if a new drill or training aide is proven effective for a coach in Oregon, then that drill or aide will be transmitted through all Certified Coaches to improve the effectiveness of everyone.
Analysis
You, as coaches, have a lot to do working with the entire swim, not just the start. As such, we at PowerStarts® will process all the video into frame-by-frame technique analysis and multi-media CD-ROM presentation of each swimmer's performance. In this way, we take the analytical and programming burden off of you, so you can focus on your swimmers. It also helps us notice if there are opportunities to make suggestions to help you be the most effective PowerStarts® coach possible.
Support
PowerStarts will also help coordinate advertising of your clinics to other teams and individuals in your area and beyond. In this way, you are able to attract more participation and more revenue to your clinics!
A key component of our global scheduling and communication system will be the PowerStarts® website. Clinics that are open to any swimmer will be listed on our Scheduled Clinics page. Dates and general location will be listed, along with the contact information for the host team/club/organization. Any interested swimmer is welcome to contact the host club directly to register for the clinics.
In addition to making periodic announcements of Open Clinics that have been scheduled, we are tracking inquiries from various locations to coordinate clubs and teams in nearby areas to gather together enough swimmers from the area to bring clinics there. So if you feel your team or club is too small to host a clinic on its own, please contact us to express your interest, and we will do our best to put you together with other teams in your area to combine efforts. You may also search our Teams List for more swimmers in your area, and register your own organization so that others may find you!
